Experience
My career began at a major big-box retailer, where I excelled in sales and ranked in the top 5%. Through hard work and determination, moving around the Southeast US, I eventually climbed the ranks to become a regional manager. However, after 18 years, I felt the pull to return home due to my mother's declining health. With my brother's help, I secured a position at a mattress company. This move changed the course of my life. I helped open new locations across three states, gaining extensive education about the mattress business. I quickly rose to Vice President of Operations for this successful company. I tip my hat to them for the knowledge they gave me. During these years, I repeatedly saw children who didn't even have a mattress or sleep four to a bed, even on multiple occasions seeing kids using pool floats as a mattress. I found this heartbreaking and knew I wanted to do something to help put an end to that happening. Unfortunately, my family experienced a tragedy and then cancer; these life-altering events and the toll of constant travel made me prioritize family time. Thus, my family and I started our own business, selling quality American-made mattresses in our home state of North Carolina.
